USB-Serial adapter install guide

Make sure to take the DVR out of KIOSK Mode before connecting the USB-Serial Adapter cable to the DVR . It is also recommended to exit the ETV Server software before connecting the cable.

The first time you connect the USB side of the USB-Serial Adapter cable to the DVR , do not connect anything to the serial side of the cable until after the drivers are fully installed.

When installing the drivers, when given the option to check Specify a Location, check only that option and click Next. On the next page, you will click the Browse… button and navigate to Local Disk (C:) and furthermore to the Elite folder, Drivers folder, GUC232A… folder, Win2000 folder, and select the only file available and clicking Open. Then click Next until the install of the device is completed and you click Finish.

To check which COM Port the adapter is being assigned, Right-Click on My Computer and choose Properties. Left-Click on Device Manager and expand (press the plus sign) the Ports category on the right side. Find the ATEN USB-Serial Adapter (COM#) and in parenthesis the COM Port Number will be identified. Use this when configuring the ETV Settings (COM Ports Tab & Data Tab)
