Save search video through the Remote Client (XRMS) software

You can “capture” searched video to the hard drive by following these steps:

1. Connect to the DVR using the XRMS software.

2. Click on the “Search Mode” button.

3. In search mode, select a date to search by clicking on the calender.

NOTE: Any video that was recorded on the DVR will display as a “Yellow” date.

4. Select the Time in which you want to search. Click once on a colored box, underneath the camera positions.
   NOTE: Hours are shown by default. Double-clicking the grid will expand it to minutes.

5. Once time and date are selected, click the “Play” button to pull up the video. Once an image is loaded, click “Stop”.

6. To start the video capture, click on the “Recording” button.

7. Choose the cameras you wish to record by placing a check next to the cam # and click “recording.” The “Recording” button will start to flash.

8. Click “Play” to start the video playback. In capture mode an icon is displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of the camera positions
   that you chose to record.

9. When you have finished playing back the video that you want to record, click the “Stop” button.

10. Click the “recording” button once again to end the video capture.

NOTE: By default, the video capture is saved to:
C:\XRMS\Recording
You can change this destination path through the RMS Setup menu.

The file that is created uses a proprietary file format .XVW. In order to view this file you need to have the XRMS “Backup Viewer.” To convert the file into an AVI, see related ETM documentation, “Convert XVW export file to AVI.”
