Dynamic IP setup using dyndns.org

This document is provided as a reference and guide, and is subject to inaccuracies out of EL-USA's control

1.  First you must make sure that the DVR can connect to the Internet and you have Winzip or some type of unzip utility.
2.  Go to http://www.dyndns.org
3.  Left click on the “Sign-up Now” link.
4.  Fill out the form; you must give a valid email address so that you can confirm the account setup.
5.  Once the account is confirmed you will log in to the site with the email address and password that you just entered.
6.  Once you’re logged in to the site you will find “Services” at the top of the screen in the yellow bar.
7.  On the right hand side you will see “DNS Services” left click on this link.
8.  Left click on “Dynamic DNS
9.  Left click on “Add Dynamic DNS
10. Enter the “Hostname”. It should be something that is easy to remember.
11. Select the Domain name from the pull down list.
12. Left click on “Add Host”
13. Left click on “Services” on the yellow bar.
14. Left click on “DNS Services”
15. Left click on “Dynamic DNS
16. Left click on “Update Clients”
17. Left click on “DynDNS Updater v3.0.0.5s” link this will prompt you to download the client.  Save it to your desktop.
18. Extract the files from “DynDNS Updater v3.0.0.5s.zip” file and double click on the “Setup.exe”
19. Click on the “Next” button using all of the default install options.
20. Once the install is finished you will be prompted with 3 options select “Launch DynDNS Updater” and then click on finish.
21. This will start the DynDNS Wizard.
22. Click on “Next” 
23. Select “Local Area Network” and click on “Next”
24. Left click on “Detect My IP” This will cause the software to detect what the external IP Address is.  Make sure that the IP Address is not a 168.x.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 192.x.x.x as the IP Addresses are not valid internet IP Addresses.  
25. Left click “Next”.
26. Enter a Group Name this can be anything you want. Click on “Next”
27. Enter your Username and password in the boxes and Left click on “Next”
28. The Next screen will prompt you to download your configured hostnames. Leave the “Yes” option selected and left click on “Next”.
29. If the next screen show a hostname of “BadAuth” click on back and make sure you username and password are correct.
30. If the screen shows your hostname you configured put a check in the box and click on “Next”.
31. Left click on next.
32. Left click on Finish.
33. This will put a Green check box down by the clock.
34. Double left click on the Check Box.
35. Left click on “Options” tab. 
36. Put a check in the box next to “Start with Windows”
37. Left click on “OK”
38. After 5 minutes you should be able to use the host name to connect to the DVR , if the router is configured correctly with port forwarding.
