ETV Preventative Maintenance Schedule

Monthly

  • Blow out and clean front filter with compressed/canned air

  • Perform a search of footage matching the earliest footage date

  • Look for any video footage anomalies that may indicate a failing camera

Three Months

  • Repeat Monthly maintenance

  • Blow out the rear case fans / Power Supply fan with compressed/canned air

  • Defragment C: Drive ONLY (See pg. 4 for instructions)

Six Months

  • Repeat 3 month DVR maintenance

  • Open the case and blow out the system (while OFF) with compressed/canned air - make sure to clean out all components, including the power supply

  • Run a CHECKDISK on C: Drive ONLY (pg. 3)

  • Test UPS battery backup by pulling the plug from the wall (make sure you exit the DVR software to reduce damage to the system if UPS fails)

Annually

  • Repeat 6 month DVR maintenance

  • Purge/Rebuild database (without deleting data) NOTE: Systems that have greater than 750GB of storage need to perform a purge / rebuild every 6 months. (pg. 5)

  • Run a CHECKDISK on ALL Drives (pg. 3)

  • Meter the UPS and/or Line Conditioner for proper voltage. Also meter the incoming voltage at the wall to determine your raw power conditions. Monitor for changes onsite.

  • Meter your peak-to-peak voltage on all camera BNC inputs to make sure you don't have any 'hot' cameras that can potentially damage your DVR
