Web interface (ActiveX) cannot connect, prompts for password, shows port 0

ActiveX control XRMS reference:
  • ETM-120-xx : v1.0 XRMS
  • ETM-120-04/09/16CDRW : v1.1 XRMS*
  • ETM-120-04/06/08CDRW : v1.3 XRMS*
* -04 version dependent on firmware version

When connecting to an ETM with a newer version of ActiveX XRMS, it will overwrite the previous version.
If you have the v1.0 XRMS ActiveX control installed and connect to an ETM-120-xxCDRW unit, you will no longer be able to properly connect to the non-cdrw ETM-120-xx through the web ActiveX interface without removing/uninstalling the ActiveX control. The problem occurs when you connect to the ETM-120-xx, It will prompt for a password and have the PORT listed as 0 (zero), which cannot be edited, and connection fails.

The following files can be manually removed to uninstall the ActiveX component:
  • CXRMS.OCX
  • XRMSRes.dll
These files are located in the following directories:
  • Windows XP or Vista - C:\Windows\system32\
  • Windows 2000 - C:\Winnt\system32\
Also, you can download and then run (double left-click) the attached RemoveXrmsActiveX.bat file at anytime to delete these files.
