The following instructions will show you how to backup footage through the ETM-120-xxCDRW.
The ETM-120-xx/CDRW supports the following recordable media and devices:
CD-R/RW discs
USB flash drive (U3 drives are not compatible)
USB CD-RW drive, USB DVD-RW drive, USB hard drive
To back up to the built in CD-RW drive:
press the MENU button
press ENTER, arrow down to the BACKUP menu and press ENTER again
Use the DOWN arrow button to select the CDRW drive by pressing ENTER
Searching for device is displayed:
When the device is detected, press ENTER
The BACKUP menu is displayed, and BACKUP BEGIN is highlighted. To change the DATE and TIME use your ENTER button to switch between the menu options, date, and time. Use the UP/DOWN arrow buttons to change the values and the LEFT/RIGHT arrow buttons to change sections. NOTE: You cannot select individual cameras when backing up to CD
Repeat the process for the BACKUP END
When you have entered in the correct time and date, use the DOWN arrow button to highlight START and press ENTER.
(NOTE: a standard CD-R disc is 700MB. The backup must not exceed that amount of disc space)
The backup process will execute and the file will be saved to the CD as an .XVW file.
Refer to pages 112-114 of the ETM manual on how to convert the file from a .XVW to an .AVI, or refer to the Knowledge Base article titled “ETM – Converting exported XVW file to an AVI file.pdf”
Backing up to a USB device:
Under BACKUP select USB STORAGE
Follow steps 5-9 from above
The only difference in the process using a USB device is that you have the option to select individual cameras for backup.
